Oh Yeah! Victory Bars
Another competitor for Quest bars–Oh Yeah! Victory Bars! Figured I’d test drive 2 flavors, Fudge Brownie and Peanut Butter Chip, when I saw them at Vitamin Shoppe.
Peanut Butter Chip: The flavor was spot on; super peanutty and not too salty or sweet. Not even a hint of chemical aftertaste like other bars. There were even tiny peanuts dispersed throughout the bar. I liked this one best of the two.
Fudge Brownie: The chocolate flavor was very mild, almost not even there, and there were tiny chocolate chips dispersed throughout the bar that added nice crunch/zing of chocolate. I enjoyed it!
Texture: Both were similar to Laffy Taffy. Kinda freaked me out at first, but then I realized it was just like a microwaved Quest bar, without the microwaving! Surprisingly appealing. Not over chewy and at the same time, not hard as a rock.
Smell: Spot on for each flavor. I was nervous they’d smell like rubber or something chemically, but they were true to their names.
Gluten-filled counterpart: Tootsie Rolls (even though I found out they’re technically gluten free)
Nutrition: They’re gluten free, very similar stats to a Quest bar (21g protein and 20g fiber), low net carbs, and contain no sugar alcohols.
Ingredients: More than I like, but not bad. Meh.
Peanut Butter Chip: Protein Blend (Oh Yeah!® Blend Consisting of Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate, Calcium Caseinate), Natural Prebiotic Fiber Syrup (Tapioca), Peanut Butter, Peanuts, Peanut Butter Chips, [Sugar, Palm Kernel Oil, Partially Defatted Peanut Flour, Nonfat Dry Milk Powder, Salt, and Soy Lecithin (an Emulsifier), Peanut Flour, Agave Syrup, Evaporated Cane Juice Crystals, Cocoa Butter, Natural Flavors, Soy Lecithin (an Emulsifier), Guar Gum, Salt, and Almond Butter.
Fudge Brownie: Protein Blend (Oh Yeah!® Blend Consisting of Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate, Calcium Caseinate), Natural Prebiotic Fiber Syrup (Tapioca), Almond Butter, Almonds, Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, [Sugar, Chocolate Liquor, Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin (an Emulsifier), And Vanilla], Cocoa Powder, Agave Syrup, Evaporated Cane Juice Crystals, Cocoa Butter, Natural Flavors, Soy Lecithin (an Emulsifier), Guar Gum, Salt, and Peanut Butter.
Overall: VERY reasonably priced, get great flavor and lots of protein and fiber in a soft, chewable bar. They also come in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Vanilla Almond which sound tasty! Quest will still be my go-to because of quality ingredients AND flavor, but it’s not bad, I’d definitely consider buying them again.
