Peeled Snacks Dried Fruit

After receiving samples for review from Peeled Snacks, my frugivory increased exponentially. I contacted the lovely and super friendly Laura and she graciously allowed me to sample their products!

Here’s their mission from their website:

“At Peeled Snacks we know that food starts out delicious and nutritious, and it doesn’t need some machine to improve it, or an engineer to perfect it. We strive to bring you natural, premium ingredients so you can feel good about snacking. We believe a healthy diet includes a balanced mixture of protein, fiber, and carbohydrates to help you stay fit and active. Eating well doesn’t have to mean eating tasteless, bland foods. It does, however, mean eating a healthy, wide range of foods from every food group.”

I LOVE that!! No sulfurs, sugars, or any other chemical garbage, just good ol’ plain fruit like nature intended. :)

Quick product stats:

  • Made with organic, all-natural ingredients with no sugar or oil added
  • These snacks help you achieve the suggested five-a-day servings of fruit
  • Comes in these flavors: much-ado-about-Mango, pine-4-PineappleApple-2-the-core, Banan-a-peelRaisin expectations, Apricot-a-lot, Cherry-go-round, Paradise found, Farmer’s market trio, and GoFigure.

Tearing into the box like a wild animal, I was shocked to see the amount of amazingness sitting in front of me.

peeled1Let’s just say I dove right in!

First up, the fruit pouches:

peeled2I have an uncanny obsession for dried mango, so of course I had to try that one first! Not only was it extremely fresh, but the sweetness was better than any brand of organic dried mango I’ve ever had. They were soft, pliable, and didn’t break my teeth with toughness like past brands I’ve tried. Thank goodness they gave me two of these–I think Laura secretly knew of my addiction heehee

The dried apple, bananas, apricots, and raisins were no different. All SUPER fresh, plump, soft, and extremely flavorful.

Prior to trying the Go Figure mix (dates, figs, and apricots), I’d never had a fig. Sorry all my fig loving friends, but I’m NOT a fan. The inside kinda skeeved me out. Don’t get me wrong, the mix was fresh and yummy, but I’m TOTALLY not a fig fan.

But my favorite of them all was HANDS DOWN the Paradise Found blend. Oh yes, paradise was MOST DEFINITELY FOUND. It was a mix of dried mango, banana, and pineapple. Lemme just say, dried pineapple now ranks up there with mango–holy deliciousness!!! This mix made me feel like I was on some tropical island, soakin up the rays in a hammock. Such a fantastic flavor combo of sour, sweet, and mild. :)  That bag was gone within 10 minutes, no lie…I was quite sad when I reached the bottom.

Then there were the Apple Clusters which are made of organic apples, organic apple juice concentrate, and organic potato starch and rolled into crunchy, bite size balls. They come in three varieties: Apple crunch, Berry crunch, and Cinnamon crunch.

The apple crunch was my favorite, it was like an apple flavored cracker jack!! I’m ADDICTED!!!! I wish it came in a cereal box because I think it’d be epic with almond milk! They’re honestly better than candy. The apple is followed closely by the berry. It tastes reminiscient of raspberries with a hint of apple. LOVED it.

I didn’t try the cinnamon since I’m not a cinnamon fan, but I’ve heard it’s like cinnamon toast crunch cereal.

If you want to learn more about these snacks, don’t hesitate to check out their website, Facebook page, or store locator. :)

What I love about dried fruit is that you can get a TON of nutrients in a small serving without that overly stuffed feeling. It’s like mother nature’s candy!

Thanks again Peeled Snacks for letting me review your DELICIOUS treats!! I ADORE them!
