VPX Life Lift Protein Bar: Fudge Brownie Blitz
I saw these bars by VPX at Vitamin Shoppe the other day and heard they were competition for Quest bars because of similar stats. Flavor I had was Fudge Brownie Blitz. It’s gluten free and semi-soft, so I figured, why not?
Taste: Chemically, fake chocolate with a random hint of mint? Super bizarre. I tried it both microwaved and raw, but both ways tasted like burned, artificial chocolate. I was tempted to ask, “where’s the chocolate?”
Texture: Very soft, almost like a microwaved Quest bar, and there were little crispies dispersed throughout the bar that offered a nice crunch
Smell: Like a chemically chocolate bar. I should’ve been wary from the get-go.
Gluten-filled counterpart: Nothing comes to mind.
Nutrition: While it boasts 20 grams of protein (no soy) and 20 grams of Fiber, it still didn’t cut it for me. The flavor was just too offsetting.
Ingredients: Protein Blend (whey protein isolate, milk protein isolate, dairy protein rice crisp); isomalto-oligoscccharide (100% natural prebiotic fiber derived from plant sources) almond oil, almond butter, natural sunflower butter, apple fiber, cocoa powder, erythritol, natural flavors, purified water, sodium chloride, and sunflower lecithin.
Overall: Sadly, it was just nasty. They also come in Buck Wild Blueberry, Apple Cinnamon Delight, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter Blast, and Strawberry Supreme, but I’m too scared to try them. NOT worth the moolah. Let’s just say I will not be buying them again.
